Razer BlackShark V2 Pro

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro

The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro headphones are a great choice for gamers looking for a wired gaming headset. They offer full audio and microphone compatibility with PCs, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X controllers.

The headphones are comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions, thanks to their soft and comfortable cloth padding. With the Razer Synapse software, you can customize the audio with a 10-band graphic EQ for the microphone and audio, as well as a virtual surround feature. However, it’s important to note that this software isn’t compatible with Xbox One.

The design of the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro is sleek and stylish, with oval-shaped ear cups made entirely of black plastic. The headphones are also comfortable, with soft cloth padding that doesn’t clamp too tightly on the head.

However, the ear cups have a limited range of motion, which could be inconvenient for those with larger heads. The control scheme is easy to use, with a mute/unmute button, a power on/off button, and a volume knob control. The buttons provide good feedback, but the mic mute and power button can feel similar and may be mistaken for each other.

The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro headphones have a bass-heavy sound profile that’s great for bringing out low rumbling noises in action-packed video games. The mid-range is balanced, making them suitable for vocal-heavy content as well.

The microphone has an excellent noise handling performance, making your voice easily understandable even in noisy environments.

Overall, the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro headphones have impressive battery performance, lasting over 23 hours on a single charge, making them perfect for long gaming sessions. This is a perfect headset for gaming and streaming.

Positive
  • 10-band graphic EQ.
  • Detachable boom microphone.
  • Comfortable, stable fit.
  • Excellent audio quality
Negatives
  • Inconsistent bass and treble delivery.
  • USB dongle isn’t compatible with Xbox One.

ASUS ROG Delta RGB

ASUS successfully managed to up their game with this beautiful RGB headset. I’m a big fan of ROG (Republic of Gamers) gaming products. With excellent sound quality, it stands among the other high-end gaming headsets. This headphone is also good for big heads.

It comes with a 127db signal-to-noise ratio, fitted with 50mm ASUS Essence drivers inside the D shaped earcups. It is also equipped with SABRE Quad-DAC, which delivers signal isolation processing, improving the overall sound quality.

Following the trends, this headset comes with a new USB-C type connection. USB-C to USB 2.0 adapter is also included for compatibility with all the devices. ASUS ROG doesn’t come with a 3.5mm jack, which is the right way to connect any headset with your console. However, you can connect it with the USB 2.0 charging port.

Another beautiful feature of the ASUS ROG delta is the Aura Sync RGB lightning strip around each ear cup with the ASUS logo in the middle. RGB lighting cycles through beautiful colors, which adds style and ambiance to your setup.

It is highly compatible with PC and consoles and provides rich details in games like Call of Duty, where audio hints are important for awareness about the surroundings. ASUS ROG Delta is also one of the most comfortable gaming headsets in the market.

It features D-shaped ear cups that match the shape of an ear. The drivers inside the ear cups are angled at 12 degrees for accurate positioning. The package includes two pairs of ear cushions, one with a leather and fabric mesh with breathability in mind, and the other is a thin set of protein leather for gaming-on-the-go.

Positive
  • High quality
  • Beautiful RGB
  • Comfortable design
  • Excellent audio quality
Negatives
  • No 3.5mm jack
  • Pricey

Beyerdynamic MMX 100

The Beyerdynamic MMX 100 is a gaming headset that is well-made and straightforward in design. This wired analog headset features a detachable boom microphone and connects over 3.5mm to your gaming platform of choice.

It also comes with two detachable cords, one ending in a single TRRS plug and the other ending in a split TRS mic/headphone option, for connecting to gaming consoles, PC, or mobile devices with headphone jacks. The headset has two on-ear control options: a dial for controlling volume and a spring-loaded switch for muting the microphone.

While the Beyerdynamic MMX 100 may lack the emphasis on bass sound that most consumer-oriented headphones have, it offers a comfortable and secure fit. The thick earpads and the decent range of movement on the hinges make it possible to wear for multi-hour gaming sessions.

The microphone is detachable and sits on a flexible cord, making it easy to adjust to your needs. However, the single TRRS cord is a little on the short side for anything other than a console controller, so PC users with one port for headphone and mic audio may need to come up with a creative solution.

The Beyerdynamic MMX 100 handles the audio demands of games well, but its isolation performance is just average. The lack of bass emphasis means that the rumble of car engines, gunfire, and explosions don’t mask the game’s music much, making it easier to hear other sounds like footsteps.

Overall, the Beyerdynamic MMX 100 is a reliable and straightforward option for those who prefer a simple gaming headset without too many extra features.

Positive
  • Comfortable
  • Good quality microphone
  • Replaceable parts
  • Sturdy build
Negatives
  • Quiet bass output
  • A bit pricey

Corsair HS55 Stereo

The Corsair HS55 SURROUND gaming headset is a wired headset that offers a basic yet functional design with plastic construction. The headset’s headband has a soft pleather material, and the ear cups have memory foam with a pleather covering.

It is a decent option for gamers looking for an affordable option with good build quality and a flat frequency response microphone. The headset has a majority plastic construction with soft pleather material on the headband and memory foam ear cups covered in pleather. While it is comfortable for short gaming sessions, the pressure on the ears can become uncomfortable over time.

However, the uneven pressure on the ear cups may cause discomfort after a few hours of use. The headset has basic on-headset controls and relies on Corsair iCUE software for other features like surround sound support, EQ presets, and microphone input level adjustments.

The Corsair HS55 SURROUND comes with a 3.5mm TRRS headphone jack and a USB adapter for PC and Mac. The USB adapter is required to enable the iCUE software and certain features, while the headphone jack is compatible with many devices, including gaming consoles and smartphones.

The on-headset controls are extremely basic, with a volume wheel and a flip-up microphone mute button. All other settings must be controlled through software, including the 7.1 surround sound support that the headset is marketed with.

While the iCUE software enables access to several useful features, the headset’s audio quality falls short of our ideal frequency response curve due to the notable deviations in the mid and high end. This means that the bass and low-mids are slightly exaggerated and uneven, while the high end is overly exaggerated above 3kHz.

The headset is acceptable at blocking outside sound, but the uneven ear pad seal may allow loud noises to seep through. The frequency response has notable deviations from the ideal curve, with less sub-bass, slightly exaggerated and uneven bass and low-mids, and overly exaggerated high end above 3kHz.

The non-detachable microphone has a flat frequency response with impressive evenness and captures most of the spectrum. However, there is some added sibilance in the high end above 6kHz.

Overall, the Corsair HS55 SURROUND gaming headset is a decent choice for gamers looking for a budget-friendly option with basic features, but it falls short in comfort, isolation, and sound quality compared to other options in its category and price range.

The headset’s build quality and microphone are good, and its use of a USB dongle for certain features is strange but manageable.

Positive
  • Nice design & Pleasant materials
  • Feels solid
  • Good microphone
  • In-app custom EQ
Negatives
  • Non-detachable microphone
  • Strange dongle
  • Frequency response and isolation

Corsair Gaming VOID RGB Elite

The Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless gaming headset is a wireless gaming headset with 7.1 surround sound and colored LED lights. It is solidly constructed and comes with a metal frame and soft fabric cushions.

It is comfortable to wear for extended periods, although it can feel a little loose at times. The hinges on the headphones don’t allow for much vertical tilt, which can make the weight feel a little oddly distributed, but adjusting the band is easy.

The headset is equipped with on-ear controls, with a mic mute button and a volume dial on the left headphone. It is also a wireless headset that relies on a 2.4GHz RF USB dongle, which means it is compatible with PC and PlayStation 4.

The Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless offers a 40-foot connection range, and users can walk around the room while the headset is plugged into the PC.

The headset comes with a micro-USB charging cord, 2.4GHz RF wireless dongle, a little foam tip for the attached microphone, and that’s about it. The iCUE app offers the same features as Razer Synapse or Logitech G HUB, which allow users to customize and coordinate the colored LEDs of the Void Elite, as well as other Corsair peripherals.

The Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless lasts up to 16 hours of playback time on a single charge and up to 17 hours and 25 minutes of consistent playback when the RGB lighting is turned off. The battery life decreases when the LED lighting is turned on.

Overall, gaming with the Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless is a positive experience. The headset offers surround sound on PC, and games like Overwatch and Fortnite work seamlessly with it.

Playing games on PlayStation 4 also sounds great, although there are some limitations to the headset. The iCUE app is a little slow, oddly laid out, and necessary for using the headset’s full feature set.

Positive
  • Wireless audio via RF means no lag
  • Great Mic
  • Incredible sound quality
  • Cloth headphone pads are decent for glasses
Negatives
  • Surround sound and battery meter tied to app
  • Extremely loose fit
  • RGB lighting drains battery much faster.

Alienware 7.1 PC Gaming Headset AW510H-Light

The AW510H is a great mid-range option for gamers looking for a comfortable, high-quality audio experience without breaking the bank. While it lacks some of the advanced customization options of other high-end headsets, the 7.1 virtual surround sound does an excellent job of immersing the player in the game and providing directional audio cues.

One standout feature of the AW510H is its noise cancellation capabilities. Despite being a wired headset, it is still relatively lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended gaming sessions. The cushioned headband and ear cups are some of the comfiest on the market, and the retractable microphone is a nice touch that keeps it out of the way when not in use.

In terms of audio quality, the AW510H performs admirably. Footsteps and other in-game sounds are clear and easily distinguishable, although the directional accuracy is not always perfect. The built-in noise suppression on the microphone also works well, and many users have reported that the audio quality is better than other standalone microphones they have used.

One minor drawback of the AW510H is that the cable can sometimes produce minor feedback when it brushes against clothing or other surfaces. Additionally, while it is available in both black and silver, some users may prefer a wider variety of color options.

Overall, the Alienware AW510H is an excellent mid-range gaming headset that provides great audio quality, comfort, and noise cancellation capabilities. While it may not have all the advanced customization options of some higher-end headsets, it is a great option for gamers looking for a high-quality audio experience at a reasonable price point.

Razer Kraken X 7.1 Ultralight Gaming Headset

The Razer Kraken X is a good budget gaming headset that comes in an all-black design and supports 7.1-channel surround sound. The headband and slider are made of durable polycarbonate-ABS, which is lightweight and comfortable for glasses wearers thanks to hidden eyewear channels that alleviate pressure at the temples.

The memory foam ear pads also add to the overall comfort of the headset, but unfortunately they are not user-replaceable.

The headset features a volume dial and mute button on the left ear cup, but lacks in-line controls. The volume dial could use a bit more resistance, but the mute toggle works well with a satisfying click when depressed or released. Isolation is decent, but not exceptional, so it’s best to use the headset in a quiet room.

In terms of sound quality, the Razer Kraken X emphasizes bass notes, which is typical for gaming headsets and makes explosions more impactful. Boosted vocal frequencies also make it easier to hear character and teammate dialogue. However, treble reproduction falls short, and some high-frequency details may be difficult to hear.

The headset’s 40mm dynamic drivers provide a natural representation of three-dimensional space, making it easier to locate enemies in games. The microphone picks up voices loud and clear, but there may be some reverb and ambient noise depending on the environment.

Compared to the Razer Kraken Pro V2, the Kraken X has fewer extra features, but it’s a reliable budget option that meets all the requirements of a good gaming headset. Overall, the Kraken X is a user-friendly option with cross-platform compatibility and a must-have feature for glasses wearers: hidden eyewear channels.

EPOS Sennheiser GSP 301

The EPOS Sennheiser GSP 301 is a gaming headset that offers exceptional sonic performance at a relatively affordable price point. The headset features a closed-back design and a permanently-attached microphone and cable, with two separate plugs for microphone and audio connections.

While the design of the GSP 301 is somewhat outdated, the headset’s audio quality more than makes up for it. The bass is precise and punchy without being overpowering, while the highs are clean and allow for easy spatial detail recognition.

The midrange is excellent, with a natural sound that Sennheiser is known for. Additionally, the microphone produces a clean and crisp sound that is better than most gaming headsets at this price point.

Build and comfort are also noteworthy for this headset. The ear-shaped pads are filled with the right amount of memory foam and offer enough room for even the largest ears. The split headband is cushioned and comfortable, with the low attachment point ensuring an even fit.

The clamping pressure of the cups is also even and comfortable, making the headset suitable for extended gaming sessions.

The cable material is somewhat coarse and tacky, which can be a minor annoyance. Additionally, the permanently-attached cable and microphone make the headset less portable than some other models on the market.

However, the excellent audio performance and comfortable build make the GSP 301 an excellent choice for gamers who prioritize sound quality over other features.

Positive
  • Crystal clear sound quality
  • Removable cable
  • Noise cancellation
  • Comfortable & Lightweight
  • PS4, Xbox One, PC, and MacOS compatibility
Negatives
  • Lacks flexible software for advanced users.
  • Feature-light

Turtle Beach Recon 70

The Turtle Beach Recon 70 is a great option for gamers who want a budget-friendly wired headset that can work on any platform. While they lack some customization options and are cheaply made, they have a decent sound profile and good microphone recording quality.

The headphones have a large headband design with color accents to match their console variants, but they feel very plasticky and have a rudimentary control scheme. They are comfortable enough for long gaming sessions, although some may find them a bit tight on the head.

The sound profile is mostly well-balanced, but there is a dip in the low-bass range that may not satisfy those who want a heavy bass sound. However, the mid and treble ranges are flat and even, providing clear and detailed dialogue and instrumental music. The boom microphone is also of good quality, providing full-bodied, clear, and natural sound recording.

Overall, the Turtle Beach Recon 70 is a good option for those who want a versatile wired headset for all their gaming needs without spending a lot of money.

Although they lack some features and may not be as durable as other options, their good sound and microphone quality, as well as their comfortable fit, make them a solid choice for gamers on a budget.

Positive
  • Comfortable earcups
  • Cheap price
  • Decent sound quality
  • Highly Compatible with most of the devices
  • Mic output
Negatives
  • Isolation
  • Mic is quiet
  • Bass output

SADES MPOWER Stereo Headset

This one is for our gamer girls! SADES has manufactured a beautiful looking headset in white and light pink color combination. This is an Angel Edition with minor changes from the original variant. You can see “Angel Edition” printed on both earcups.

You may not have heard about this company, but they have been making headsets for many years. There are many headsets close to $40, and most of them have average sound quality. On the other hand, Sades Mpower is a good choice with excellent sound quality.

The package includes an extra Y-splitter cable to connect to a PC, an instructions manual, a warranty card, and a pair of extra leather earpads that you can easily switch with the fabric ones. It has a 3.5mm jack for connectivity.

This is a stereo headset and doesn’t have the surround sound feature, which is very unfortunate at this price. However, you can enable virtual surround sound by using Windows Sonic or Dolby Atoms. Overall, the sound quality is good enough to play games or watch movies with clear sound. Also, the design of the Sades MPower is very comfortable. The build quality is good, and it only weighs 285g.

If you are a gamer girl, then, just like the pink gaming chairs, these pink gaming headsets will look great with your pink gaming setup.

Positive
  • Good sound quality
  • Beautiful look
  • Durable & lightweight
  • Extra cable and earpads
Negatives
  • Stereo sound
  • Average mic

I started gaming in my early age. I would play games with my dad on SEGA. I played the Golden Axe, Sonic the Hedgehog, Contra, Jurassic Park and many more. Since then I have played hundreds of games, and gaming has become a part of my life.
